Clothing company Endura have been around for some time now, for the past twenty years they’ve built up a solid reputation for clothing which is well designed, lasts and does the job intended. Endura is based in Scotland where all the products are developed and tested. In a land of horizontal rain and near vertical climbs you know their kit is being put through its paces in the harshest of conditions, this is certainly the right place to test their gear.  Product testing is left in the very capable hands of the Pro Endura Racing Team as well as Endura sponsored MTB, road and track cyclists, not to mention customer feedback. The result of this is a range with some really well thought out products and some industry firsts emerging from the kilt clad country.

Without further ado let’s take a closer look at some of their Autumn/Winter 2012 kit.

Endura Windchill Cycling Jacket

This jacket does a great job of being a really breathable softshell, whilst also doing a great job of keeping the elements out.  Highly breathable, water resistant, stretchy and with selected thermal panels, it’s the jacket you’ll wonder how you managed without. The jacket comes in red or blue and previous versions of this jacket have been very popular at PBK.

Some of the key features of this jacket is that it is both wind proof and breathable but non-restrictive to your movement unlike other similar jackets. A stretchy front and sleeve panels allow the jacket movement without any excess material to flap in the wind while still keeping you warm and the weather out.

A Thermal Roubaix fabric on the inside of the jacket in the underarm, side and back area helps keep you warm while still offering breathability. Soft to the touch, this material feels instantly warm as soon as you pull on the jacket.
Safety has always been a major priority for Endura. Without going overboard the reflective stretch panels on the sleeves and rear to help keep you seen without turning you into an advert for high visibility clothing.
A neatly concealed Napoleon style chest zipped pocket offers easy access to items while riding while a handy glasses wipe comes in very handy when the weather takes a turn for the worst .

Zipped pit vents and laser cut inner storm flaps allow for quick ventilation when things start to heat up. The easy pull zip makes this an extremely easy process which won’t require the agility of a contortionist.
The traditional three rear pockets get a modern twist with one zipped waterproof pocket for valuables that you want to keep dry.

Endura Transmission Long Sleeve Cycling Baselayer

The Transmission long sleeve baselayer offers an extra layer of warmth while out on the bike in the winter. Designed especially for cyclists a wicking performance and body mapped mesh zones optimise temperature control. The Transmission baselayer is very  likely to end up being your favourite bit of winter cycling kit. A favourite for those who commute into work here in the PBK office.

Some of the key features is the ploypropylene yarn which provides superior moisture transfer and rapid drying.

Body mapped mesh zones (as seen in the picture below) allow for optimum body temperature control.

For those pursuing a hygienic lifestyle on two wheels an antibacterial finish will keep you feeling fresh and smell free. Perfect if you want to nip for a quick cake and coffee mid ride.
All the seams have been flatlocked for your comfort and durability of the baselayer.

Endura Thermolite Pro Cycling Bib Tights

Another piece that is popular with the PBK peloton who commute into work during the darker months, these bib tights will become your best friend when the Mercury drops. These tights are also ideal for short winter training rides when Mother Nature doesn’t want to play fair but you still want get out on the tarmac.

A Teflon HT treated Thermolite material provides insulation and comfort in the harshest of conditions. Again this material is soft to the touch offering instant warmth in the harshest of conditions.

The 400-Series antibacterial chamois with gel inserts is the perfect pad for short to medium distances.
Once again safety is a keynote in any piece of winter clothing and this time Endura has a pair of large reflective white logos on the thighs to increase your visibility to other road users.

Wicking stretch mesh upper bib helps to prevent overheating.
Ergonomic body panelling gives you freedom of movement while in the saddle. Foot loops ensure that the tight leg doesn’t ride up during the motion of riding keeping the full length of the leg warm.

Endura Argyll Cycling Socks Twin Pack – Ultramarine

Argyll is always a popular choice with cyclists. The Endura Argyll cycling sock is the perfect footwear for every occasion, from popping out for a coffee with friends to marathon summer rides that seem to go on forever, these Argyll socks will look cracking.

A fast wicking, quick drying CoolMax fabric will offer comfort your feet have never experienced before.

Durable Nylon heel and toe sections for longevity.
A high stretch fit with Lycra support zone in the arch to prevent the socks slipping and support the foot.

So there you have a couple of items on offer from the Endura Autumn/Winter 2012. As usual we want to hear your thoughts. What is your experience of Endura in the past? Have any items made your wish list?
