RadioShack Nissan Trek (RSNT) haven’t had the best pre tour preparation for this year’s race. Despite last year’s aging Radioshack been given a new lease of life with the amalgamation with Team Leopard Trek at the end of last season, there seems to be some conflict in the camp between riders and management. Directeur sportif Johan Bruyneel publicly voiced his disappointment of Frank Schleck pulling out of the Giro with a shoulder injury saying Frank “let the team down” earlier in the year. Another airing of dirty laundry in public happened when Jakob Fuglsang openly voiced his opinion about not being included in the RSNT TdF squad. Johan Bruyneel has reportedly told the Danish rider that there is no place at RSNT for him and he will not race again for the team this season. Ultimately this means that Fuglsang will not have any chance of gaining any more UCI points that he would take to another team in 2013 and thus affecting his value and wages. Sounds like a soap opera! If that wasn’t enough Bruyneel won’t even be attending this year’s Tour as “not to be a distraction” to his team after an investigation into Lance Armstrong, who Bruyneel managed to 7 Tour victories, and doping reared its head recently. If that wasn’t bad enough RSNT’s wonder boy Andy Schleck fractured his pelvis during the Dauphine ruling him out of the Tour. Chris Horner has stepped up to the plate after originally being left out but it will probably be Frank Schleck who the team rest their hopes on for Tour glory. But Jens and Fabian are still there so it’s all good!

Equipment

The designers of this year’s RSNT kit were obviously fans of Frank Schleck’s Luxembourg champs jersey with each jersey featuring the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg’s colours. In terms of aesthetics and sponsor layout this jersey keeps many of the design features of last year’s Leopard Trek Jersey with little aspects of the old RadioShack jersey thrown in for good mesure.

Jersey key features:

  • Lightweight breathable performance fabric with excellent ventilation and moisture management.
  • Ergonomic design and construction for a perfect specific riding position fit.
  • YKK full front zipper with neat chin guard.
  • Elastciated cuffs.
  • Livestrong band on left cuff.
  • Silicone gripper on the hem keeps the jersey in place.
  • Three back pockets with enough room to stash all your on ride goodies and essentials.
