Nice wheels. My bike is already comfy being a carbon road endurance with a few built in frame feature to soften vibration and rough roads. The take off wheels were aluminum with 25c tires that had a gummy strip down the centre. I changed out the tires to a different brand but stayed at 25c. I now have about 460 km on the C35s over several rides. The C35s dampen the road shock and roll really well. The higher speeds are more notable. The bike looks faster Numbers don't lie, my overall averaging speeds are almost 2 km/h faster over 40km usual loop.. My perceived effort to remain in the sweet spot while riding has me riding longer. Strava hard efforts has a 10-20% improvements over 1-5 km Strava segments. My previous personal bests were 3 months ago and 4kg lighter. I noticed that the higher speed averages over segments was much higher than anticipated, given the wheels are C35 and not C50s. Longer grinding climbs are easier as well. Approx 350 gram saving over old wheels and still using the same cog set and tires mounted. New Tires are actually a little heavier. The C35s seem to coast faster, my buddies with various wheel upgrades seemed to pull away from me while coasting at 50-70kph in the past. Now that does not happen. We will see what my numbers are like in Sept when kids are in school and I have more time to ride. Pros Great Price Dura Ace reliability Smooth Rolling Improved Sweet Spot Riding speeds. Better Cornering due to less flex and brake rub. The older aluminums flexed a bit when leaned over. Cons Braking Surface is no where as smooth as the wheels I took off. Otherwise it would have been 5 Star rating. Envious fellow riders;

Dura Ace c35 Awesome

Upgraded to DA C35's. These wheels roll true and fast. Stiff and light for climbing and aero for the flats. Set several PR's on these. Awesome wheels.

They are just OK

I bought these on sale from PBK last November but didn't have the opportunity to really ride/test them out until earlier this year. I was interested in these wheels because of the alloy brake rim mated to a carbon shell. I do a mix of flat/rolling hill rides mixed with climbing in the Sierra Nevadas and elsewhere here in Northern California. I've used full carbon wheels and while they climb great, descending can be 'interesting' especially when grabbing a handful of brake and hearing a howling sound - the alloy/carbon mix seemed like a good idea. The good - The wheels are fairly light and stiff. - They spin up relatively quickly and seem to hold their speed. - Rear hub is very quite when free-wheeling. - Rims are solid - They look good The bad - Hubs are nothing special. They are branded Dura-Ace but I'm sure they are sourced from some OEM supplier like Novatec (which is a pretty decent hub but not in the same league as WI, Chris King or Tune) - I'm noticing some rear wheel deflection when putting the power down. It is manifesting itself in my Garmin 500 cycling between 'pause' and 'on'. Will be taking the wheels in to my LBS to check hubs, spoke tension, etc. Note: there are now about 400 miles on the wheels, no rough roads and no high speed descending. - I haven't noticed any real 'aero' advantage from the wheel set. I have noticed in cross winds that they catch a bit more air than my full carbon 34s and 52s - Because of rim width (see point below) the 23c GP400sII tires have a distinct light bulb shape. I've been riding 24mm or wider rims for 3 years so shifting back to a narrower wheel I found the handling to be 'exciting' approaching twitchy. I replaced the Contis with a set of Vittoria Open Corsa CX tires with Michelin latex tubes and found the handling to be somewhat improved - the tires seem to be truer to size versus the Contis which, when inflated, measure 25mm+ The Terrible - I bought these wheels because PBK advertised them as the 2015 model measuring 24mm at the brake track. They actually measure 21.6mm based on my vernier caliper. The bike I put them on was fitted with Pacenti SL23s, a true 24mm wide rim. I didn't really notice the difference until braking on the first ride - a bit of a surprise to say the least. I don't know if PBK has updated their description or not - if they haven't, check these wheels before using them. The Verdict - Not my go to set of wheels. I've relegated them to training, rain days and loaning out to friends who want to try a mid-depth wheel set. - I bought them on sale and they were a substantial discount off the MSRP. Had I paid full price or even 75% of MSRP I would be really annoyed. Especially when the wheels they were going to replace (which, imo, are better on the descents given their wider footprint and better at climbing given their lighter weight, spoke count and hubs), were about 30% of the MSRP.

Great all rounder

I bought these wheels for just over 25 % off on one of the many Christmas promotions PBK have. A great service. I kept them until the spring boxed. They do look a little understated but in a classy way. I've rode them around the local underling rolling routes and when really windy did notice a little more buffering then normal. I took them into the Derbyshire Peaks on Sunday and I was really impressed with how well they handled the 7500 ft of climbing. They spin up really quickly and acceleration when out of the saddle, well they just feels brilliant. As soon as you stand up the bike just seems to respond to your input, probably to do with the wheels stiffness. They roll great too on the long decents and found myself gaining ground without much pedal input. The braking on the alloy rim was predictable but did notice improvement once the alloy brake surface had roughed up a little. I found them that good that I extended my ride by 30 miles to top the 100 mile barrier.

C35 wheels

I was hesitant to make a big purchase from a UK site but Probikekit had great offers and great service. Wheels arrived with no issue. I don't have miles on the wheels yet but expect them to be great!

Great WheelsShimano dura ace 9000 c35 clincher

A great set of wheels being a heavy cyclist (95kl.) I have had trouble finding a good all purpose set of wheels. Well these are not good either, the are brilliant I can not fault them in any way ,and as a bonus changing tyres is a breeze; Good one shimano.

Dura-Ace WH-9000 C35 Clincher Wheelset

Dura Ace C35 Clincher Wheelset

Over the years, I've been sucked into buying more over hyped cycling equipment than I care to admit. Most of it is fine, works well, and gets the job done, but just doesn't live up to the hype. These wheels are the exception! They truly exceeded my expectations. They are super smooth, take the edge off of bumps and rough pavement, and absorb road vibrations. It's almost like riding with too little air in the tires. However, when you stand and put some power to the pedals, these wheels respond! There's no side to side flex. Just forward motion. They roll forever and hold speed no matter the terrain. They're very stable on descents and handle well in windy conditions, although I have not been out in really windy weather yet. They came out of the box perfectly true and perfectly adjusted. I can't speak to longevity yet, but can say they are solidly built. There is nothing flimsy about these wheels. Bottom line, the C35 is a great wheel set, well worth every penny. Just FYI, I do not work in the bicycle industry. I've been riding for over 30 years and this is the first time I've been motivated to do a product review.

Great Wheels/ Price

First order from ProBikeKit.com = excellent experience! PBK had the best price on the web for Dura Ace C35 clincher wheels. Was a bit nervous ordering a fairly high-dollar item from overseas, but reviews were generally positive so I took a chance. Shipment was prompt & surprisingly fast to the US. I'll be back!

Great all-around wheel

Purchased the C-35 wheelset as an upgrade for my Trek, and they have performed as advertised. I have about 300 miles on them so far, mostly hard race training. The biggest difference between these and the stock wheels I had is the stiffness which shows itself as immediate accelerations and energy retention through fast turns. As a great bonus, they are a smoother ride than I've ever had on that bike. The wheelset is about 10 oz (total) lighter than the old wheels, but it's really about ride quality and the handling. Also seem to run faster in the 20-30 mph range because of the aerodynamic advantage. Don't notice much difference at high speeds 35-45 mph. Recommend a 23C tire over a 25C tire for these. Conti 4000s 25's is roll over too much in hard turns. Overall highly recommended wheel - especially at this price!
