Zipp 202 Firecrest Clincher Rear Wheel - Beyond Black

Zipp have taken the classic 202 wheelset and developed it into a stiff, lightweight and aerodynamic speed wheel for any road surface. It's the lightest wheel in the Firecrest Carbon Clincher range. With a classic 32mm rim depth, the Firecrest 202 also features a wider 25.4mm rim width, making it an incredibly versatile road wheel.

The Firecrest rim shape and Carbon Clincher technology are the foundation of the 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher. Firecrest rims feature a near-constant width from brake track to spoke bed, improving aerodynamics and improving airflow control. Zipp used Computational Fluid Dynamics software analysis to improve aerodynamics and minimise wind-produced torque, this results in faster and improved handling in a classic road wheel.

Every Zipp full-carbon Clincher features an exclusive heat-resistant resin to stop spikes in rim temperature and tyre pressure, which can have an impact on performance and handling. Heat dissipation has been improved so much that Zipp's are the only carbon clinchers to pass stringent European safety tests with no limit on rider weight or brake-pad options. - A.D.

• Firecrest rims have a near-constant width from brake track to spoke bed to improve aerodynamics and better control airflow. The rim shape improves stability by moving the wheel's centre of pressure to sit almost directly over the steering axis, where wind-produced steering torque has a minimal effect.

• ABLC dimpling ensures that the rim moves through the wind with the ease of a shark through water.

• VCLC (Visco-Elastic Constrained Layer Control) technology absorbs the vibrations from the road, helping the wheel hold the road and transfer power.
