When it comes to tyres, Continental are known worldwide for being the fastest, sturdiest and most efficient out there.
The Grand Prix 4000S is no exception to that reputation. It can deliver traction and stability using its uniquely developed BlackChili compound coating, whilst delivering race-standard speed every time. The 4000S boasts a new Vectran® anti-puncture layer beneath the surface, making it a reliable endurance tyre. For a tyre that will out-live the competition and see you to the finish line, you have only one choice: the Grand Prix 4000S. - T.H

Great tyre - Does everything well: Low rolling resistance but good grip in the corners, good ride quality (I use with latex inner tubes), and resists punctures well. They also seem to last pretty well (I've only done 500 miles on this set so far but the tread still looks pretty new so I expect they will last well). Lot's of people will say there are other tyres out there that do some of these individual things better but I would challenge anyone to come up with a tyre that is a more accomplished all-round performer. This means you can leave it on your bike all season for training and racing alike. (I do still swap to the GP 4 Seasons tyre in winter though because the extra tread deals with the cold temperatures and surface water better).
I used to run 23mm tyres but swapped to 25mm recently and won't go back! The 25s have minimal extra weight (I personally can't tell the difference in this regard) but the lower pressure (95psi vs 110psi) improves ride quality and the wider tyre also seems to grip better. I feel more secure going through downhill corners on less than perfect surfaces or when moving rapidly and crossing the camber on country lanes with a 'gravel strewn centre strip'! This all contributes to a more relaxed feel on the bike, which reduces the onset of fatigue, and obviously helps to go faster because you can stay off the brakes more!
The only downside is the price, but I guess you get what you pay for...
Haven’t ridden them for long enough to give a complete review, but so far so good. Unfortunately on my first ride out, I managed to get a puncture on the side wall, where I must have clipped a sharp stone in the road, but putting this down to bad luck. In the dry the roll on these is great, the grip is impressive and hardly any noise. In moist conditions (the road was in the shade), they did kick out a little on a fast corner. Overall I’m happy with these tyres, but haven’t tried any other brands, i.e. Schwalbe to compare.
Always buy these tyres. Had a manufacturing problem with one I bought recently. Pro bike immediately replaced . Great service

Really happy with these, they feel faster than my previous tyres and the grip is really good as well.
Would recommend to anyone.
Great tyres - winter or summer.
Excellent service and delivery from Probikekit.
Bought these on recommendation from a serious cyclist who does thousands of miles a year. Been a couple of hundred miles so far and have to say they are a vast improvement over the stock tyres that came with my bike. I got 700x25c which went on without fuss, reused my old tubes and away we go. Very smooth, evens out the potholed roads of Yorkshire and Lancashire with ease. Comfy on the butt and appears to be a speed improvement over previous tyres. Maybe that's just wishful thinking....anyway so far so good. Can't talk about puncture resistance as they haven't yet. Great price from PBK costing £6 more for a pair than Evans were charging for 1!!!!! Bargain. As long as they keep making them I'll keep buying them.

They're tyres, they do a good job, light, grippy, pretty tough. Quite happy to use them, and would happily use all year round.

This is my first purchase of the Continental GP4000s and I am absolutely thrilled with them. They appear to be a very sturdy but light and fast tyre.
It was the usual excellent service from Probikekit with my order being made at 21:00hrs and my tyres being delivered the very next day! Superb

9,000 Km without punctures !
What a massive difference these make. I upgraded from my all weather winter tyres to these and all I can say is wow. They feel light nimble and fast. So far so good, hopefully I will have many trouble free miles with them.
Went for these in 25s instead of my usual Ultremo ZX in 23mm
Been impressed so far, slightly cushioned ride. Confidence inspiring in the corners in the wet and quick in the dry.
No visits from the p fairies yet and I've been out in some fairly harsh conditions and hit some pretty big holes in a recent century sportive

Tried most makes out there; the Continentals are still the best. Long lasting puncture free rides. Tried Michelin for last purchase and only lasted half the distance of previous purchased Continentals. Silent running so you know the rolling resistance is exceptional.

Recently purchased two GP4000s tyres to upgrade the basic Mavic tyres that came with my Cube Peloton Race. Great service and best price I could find . I even got another 10% off. These were new stock with the TWI indicators. Easy to put on after I left them for a couple of days at room temperature? Been on a short ride to test these out and they did feel little more comfortable than the last tyres. Conti quality speaks for itself and would recommend these to anyone looking for a good tyre at a very reasonable cost compaired to others. Let's hope the weather picks up soon.
excellent tyres, this is what I was looking for.
Only one thing less exciting than a tyre is an inner tube. Having said that, in 25mm format these offer a great blend of comfort, surefooted descending and lightweight for the hills.Oh, and they look ok too, without stealing the show. After all, this is only a tyre.

Grippy, roll nicely, will just need time to assess puncture resistance.
Definitely better than the OEM ones supplied with my bike.

This is the second pair of these tyres I've had and I love them. I commute to work all the time on them and they have proved very reliable and long lasting. I would definitely recommend them.

Have used 4000GPS for last 2 years and keep coming back to them for their grip in the wet. Yes, they wear a bit faster than some others but when time trialling I want to know I can lean the bike into a bend with confidence.
Conti GP4000s still the best all year round - never ride anything else, just hope they do stand up to all the road muck of Winter which I have avoied by being in Australia.... they will I'm sure!
Purchased this with an extra 10% off the already discounted price. Absolute bargain. I have bought them as an inventory item. I can't wait to get them on the bike when my current tyres wear out.

I have been using these tyres for a number of years and whilst sometimes I have been tempted by other tyres being cheaper, I always come back to Conti's for their long term performance.
Inflated correctly, their puncture resistance is excellent. Deflated after each ride ensures slow side wall deterioration; thus these tyres last me for a minimum 2 years.
For this reason it the tyres are well worth spending that little bit extra on.

Shipping is also fast, so good!!

I use these tyres on my winter and summer road bikes, as well as my hybrid commuter on London's glass strewn roads.
Good quality ride for the money with good puncture resistance, for the price they can't be beaten. I've tried others around this price point and have always been disappointed and returned to these.
Highly recommended for everything unless you require a really low rolling resistance racing tyre (which comes with a short life span and much higher price of course).

My stock shwalbe tyres needed replacing and after reading all the great comments on pro bike I decided to upgrade to the Grand Prix 4000s. Quite an easy fit for a novice like me and the result is, why didnt I replace sooner!! For an instant prefomance upgrade without costing the earth. A must buy for any cyclist and with a great price form Probike.

Recently purchased 2 of these for my Felt cross bike. Went for the 25mm to cope with Fen roads. Probably the best purchase I've made for this bike. I can't recommend these tyres highly enough. They roll beautifully, stick to the road like glue in wet or dry conditions and look fantastic. I've put about 400 puncture free miles on them. Time will tell if they're really puncture resistant though. When these wear out I'll be purchasing another set without hesitation.
Great tyres that use all the time during the better weather. Smooth comfortable ride & very sure footed. Been using 23's until now but after a winter on GP Four Seasons 25's now changing to the larger tyre for everything. These are worth a couple of mph over lesser Conti's.

i order the 25mm instead of my usual 23mm i have always found these tyre to be very good and the new size are no different .

Never go wrong with these...:-)

Santa bought me a 2nd hand carbon bike for Christmas, fitted with Lugano 23s. My first ride was so agonisingly uncomfortable that I rushed to fit some 25s. Gerald Ciolek won Milan/San Remo on 25s and they're good enough for him....
Well, they went on a treat which is a big plus and my initial timid ride on them felt fine. Since then it hasn't stopped raining so I remain happy with the price paid and look forward to thousands of miles on them....

Easy fit, comfortable, good grip, and punctureless (so far)

Bought these as they were on offer and had heard good reports and reviews, they certainly live up to the hype , I am very impressed with them at moment.... I have only done one 60 miler on them , the road conditions were very wet to rather greasy//muddy,it was just after a torrential downpour the night before....handled conditions well with only slight movement at times on tricky road conditions ..Bought the 25mm to see if there's a difference in feel ,did appear to be a difference, have used vittorio, giant and planet x tyres in past, these surpass them by miles, wouldn't hesitate to buy again
Great tyres, not a lot to say other than what the title suggest. Great quality tyre that's easy to get on, very few punctures and they roll superbly well. Have them on my race wheels and never had an issue. Great value.

I have used most brands of tyres over 60 years cycling and found the conti 4000s tyres to be one of the most reliable I have used .Very resilient to road rubbish ,highly recomended
durable, fast rolling training tyre and excellent value!

Great offer from PBK and with the Bikeradar's discount even better. Delivered next day using standard option. Tend to get approx. 4-5,000KM per tyre with a minimum of flats.

Hard wearing predictable tyre, great price from pbk.

For puncture free milage in all weathers you cant go past the GP4000s
These are my 5th set and until something better comes along they won't be my last
Date: 20 / Jan / 2014
Great tyres for all year round use. Been using them for last 8 years & on all road surfaces - punctures very rare.
Nothing to add to the title really - a great tyre, good rolling resistance and holds the road well
Have only done a couple of hundred miles on them so will reserve the full judgement when have used them more

Light and fast, yet still pretty durable and grippy. Why choose anything else?
