Have been using these Tyres for about 5 years now and have found them to be a good choice over others i have used, They have a good amount of grip even in wet conditions and are able to withstand punctures very well. Priced very competitively also
After many years of not paying attention to tyres, thinking the expensive ones can't be *that* different! I bought these as they were on offer. I couldn't believe the difference they made. The grip and roll resistance is far superior to all the mid range tyres I've nought before, especially the grip. Cornering is so much more assured and gives you confidence the wheels aren't going to slip away from beneath you. They even feel noticeably better than the Gatorskins I had before. The puncture protection. Is also good, although not infallible. I've picked up several cuts that haven't punctured or affected performance, although I have had one flat that must have been caused by something pin sharp (but it didn't stay in the tyre). All in all the best tyre I've ever used and I may well never buy anything different in future!
Got these tyres in May, rode nearly 900 miles on them and not 1 puncture. Wearing well. A great all round tyre.
Had a pair of these for 3 yrs and done about 4000 miles at least and they're still fine. One puncture about a year ago was a pinch caused by going in a really nasty hole at speed in the wet and dark. Still another couple of thousand left in these I reckon. Smooth rolling and great handling characteristics. Worth the money. Look nice and easy to work with.
Excellent tyres hard wearing and long lasting really good puncture protection, one of the only tyres I've managed to actually wear out before changing.
Excellent tyre, good pinch resistance and a great roller
The tire has very good characteristics in both wet and wet. Feel as if rolling resistance is very little maybe among the best and then also against such as Scwhalbe Ultremo!
Smashing tyre. Don't leave home without them. So good, I bought four. Bargain!
grip force are very good condition of the tire's fine It is a good product at a good price
Good all round performer in relation to handling, grip, weight, which is very popular. Recommended
Bought a pair of these after reading all the reviews and hearing about them from friends. So far (1,500 miles) I have not been disappointed. They do seem to have added another 1 mph to my averages (regularly over 20 mph), seem comfy enough (23's) and no punctures - not even cut yet.
I ride 100 miles/week and these are Awesome tires! the only 2 punctures I got over past 2 years were from some very very thin wires (like tiny needles from road construction debris) that made it throuh and caused a slow leak... other than that, BULLETPROOF. Outstanding grip, allows you to take corners with confidence. High quality, easy to get on and off... worth the money. Get 'em!
I am so impressed with these tyres. I have used them for over 2 years and not a single puncture having run them over some pretty horrible roads in the UK and South Africa. I replaced a set of Michelin Pro3's which had numerous punctures and cut up badly. Rotated front to rear and good for another 1000kms I reckon after which I will be buying more. Highly recommended for puncture resistance, durability and performance.
Had thetheses he GP tyres before, love them they're real smooth on the road and stick to give real confidence when putting the hammer down.highly recommend
Had these tyres before, love them they're real smooth on the road and stick to give real confidence when putting the hammer down.
Really pleased with these tyres. Roll well and really seem to grip the road.
These are great tyres, good in all conditions. They are light with good punture protection, I have not had one punture yet. These tyre also come at a good price now to.
Top tyres, great price. Wanted a tyre that was fast but still had a better than average puncture resistance, no complaints
A great reliable road tyre bought at half price - what's not to like?
great tyres- noticed a huge difference immediately which surprised me. very happy with them.
At a great price for these reliable clinchers. Easy to get on and very robust on the British roads throughout the year. Seem more reliable than michelin and easy to get on than my other favourites, vittoria open pave. Basically the best
These last for my entire season which is around 10.000 km. They simply refuse to wear off. Grip is fantastic far more superior than Michelin Pro 3 and they do not cut at all. Puncture protection is very good but not bulletproof. I punctured 3 tires, but 2 of them were punctured at a high speed 50kmh+ while running over a metal (probably gas) lid on a road . Nothing could sustain that I guess, so overall a reliable puncture protection. I only give it 4 stars because these are a bit old tires, version 2 seems to be exactly the same compound apart from cosmetic appearance, so they are falling behind the competition in terms of rolling resistance which I really look for when buying a new tire.
Best road tyre I've used. Haven't had a puncture as of yet with 400 miles done on these tyres....
Great tyre - Does everything well: Low rolling resistance but good grip in the corners, good ride quality (I use with latex inner tubes), and resists punctures well. They also seem to last pretty well (I've only done 500 miles on this set so far but the tread still looks pretty new so I expect they will last well). Lot's of people will say there are other tyres out there that do some of these individual things better but I would challenge anyone to come up with a tyre that is a more accomplished all-round performer. This means you can leave it on your bike all season for training and racing alike. (I do still swap to the GP 4 Seasons tyre in winter though because the extra tread deals with the cold temperatures and surface water better). I used to run 23mm tyres but swapped to 25mm recently and won't go back! The 25s have minimal extra weight (I personally can't tell the difference in this regard) but the lower pressure (95psi vs 110psi) improves ride quality and the wider tyre also seems to grip better. I feel more secure going through downhill corners on less than perfect surfaces or when moving rapidly and crossing the camber on country lanes with a 'gravel strewn centre strip'! This all contributes to a more relaxed feel on the bike, which reduces the onset of fatigue, and obviously helps to go faster because you can stay off the brakes more! The only downside is the price, but I guess you get what you pay for...
Haven’t ridden them for long enough to give a complete review, but so far so good. Unfortunately on my first ride out, I managed to get a puncture on the side wall, where I must have clipped a sharp stone in the road, but putting this down to bad luck. In the dry the roll on these is great, the grip is impressive and hardly any noise. In moist conditions (the road was in the shade), they did kick out a little on a fast corner. Overall I’m happy with these tyres, but haven’t tried any other brands, i.e. Schwalbe to compare.
Always buy these tyres. Had a manufacturing problem with one I bought recently. Pro bike immediately replaced . Great service
Really happy with these, they feel faster than my previous tyres and the grip is really good as well. Would recommend to anyone.
Great tyres - winter or summer. Excellent service and delivery from Probikekit.
Bought these on recommendation from a serious cyclist who does thousands of miles a year. Been a couple of hundred miles so far and have to say they are a vast improvement over the stock tyres that came with my bike. I got 700x25c which went on without fuss, reused my old tubes and away we go. Very smooth, evens out the potholed roads of Yorkshire and Lancashire with ease. Comfy on the butt and appears to be a speed improvement over previous tyres. Maybe that's just wishful thinking....anyway so far so good. Can't talk about puncture resistance as they haven't yet. Great price from PBK costing £6 more for a pair than Evans were charging for 1!!!!! Bargain. As long as they keep making them I'll keep buying them.
They're tyres, they do a good job, light, grippy, pretty tough. Quite happy to use them, and would happily use all year round.
This is my first purchase of the Continental GP4000s and I am absolutely thrilled with them. They appear to be a very sturdy but light and fast tyre. It was the usual excellent service from Probikekit with my order being made at 21:00hrs and my tyres being delivered the very next day! Superb
9,000 Km without punctures !
What a massive difference these make. I upgraded from my all weather winter tyres to these and all I can say is wow. They feel light nimble and fast. So far so good, hopefully I will have many trouble free miles with them.
Went for these in 25s instead of my usual Ultremo ZX in 23mm Been impressed so far, slightly cushioned ride. Confidence inspiring in the corners in the wet and quick in the dry. No visits from the p fairies yet and I've been out in some fairly harsh conditions and hit some pretty big holes in a recent century sportive
Tried most makes out there; the Continentals are still the best. Long lasting puncture free rides. Tried Michelin for last purchase and only lasted half the distance of previous purchased Continentals. Silent running so you know the rolling resistance is exceptional.
Recently purchased two GP4000s tyres to upgrade the basic Mavic tyres that came with my Cube Peloton Race. Great service and best price I could find . I even got another 10% off. These were new stock with the TWI indicators. Easy to put on after I left them for a couple of days at room temperature? Been on a short ride to test these out and they did feel little more comfortable than the last tyres. Conti quality speaks for itself and would recommend these to anyone looking for a good tyre at a very reasonable cost compaired to others. Let's hope the weather picks up soon.
excellent tyres, this is what I was looking for.
Only one thing less exciting than a tyre is an inner tube. Having said that, in 25mm format these offer a great blend of comfort, surefooted descending and lightweight for the hills.Oh, and they look ok too, without stealing the show. After all, this is only a tyre.
Grippy, roll nicely, will just need time to assess puncture resistance. Definitely better than the OEM ones supplied with my bike.
This is the second pair of these tyres I've had and I love them. I commute to work all the time on them and they have proved very reliable and long lasting. I would definitely recommend them.
Have used 4000GPS for last 2 years and keep coming back to them for their grip in the wet. Yes, they wear a bit faster than some others but when time trialling I want to know I can lean the bike into a bend with confidence.
Conti GP4000s still the best all year round - never ride anything else, just hope they do stand up to all the road muck of Winter which I have avoied by being in Australia.... they will I'm sure!
Purchased this with an extra 10% off the already discounted price. Absolute bargain. I have bought them as an inventory item. I can't wait to get them on the bike when my current tyres wear out.
I have been using these tyres for a number of years and whilst sometimes I have been tempted by other tyres being cheaper, I always come back to Conti's for their long term performance. Inflated correctly, their puncture resistance is excellent. Deflated after each ride ensures slow side wall deterioration; thus these tyres last me for a minimum 2 years. For this reason it the tyres are well worth spending that little bit extra on.
wow ~~~~ Shipping is also fast, so good!! Nevertheless believes that writing 4000s
I use these tyres on my winter and summer road bikes, as well as my hybrid commuter on London's glass strewn roads. Good quality ride for the money with good puncture resistance, for the price they can't be beaten. I've tried others around this price point and have always been disappointed and returned to these. Highly recommended for everything unless you require a really low rolling resistance racing tyre (which comes with a short life span and much higher price of course).
My stock shwalbe tyres needed replacing and after reading all the great comments on pro bike I decided to upgrade to the Grand Prix 4000s. Quite an easy fit for a novice like me and the result is, why didnt I replace sooner!! For an instant prefomance upgrade without costing the earth. A must buy for any cyclist and with a great price form Probike.
Recently purchased 2 of these for my Felt cross bike. Went for the 25mm to cope with Fen roads. Probably the best purchase I've made for this bike. I can't recommend these tyres highly enough. They roll beautifully, stick to the road like glue in wet or dry conditions and look fantastic. I've put about 400 puncture free miles on them. Time will tell if they're really puncture resistant though. When these wear out I'll be purchasing another set without hesitation.
Great tyres that use all the time during the better weather. Smooth comfortable ride & very sure footed. Been using 23's until now but after a winter on GP Four Seasons 25's now changing to the larger tyre for everything. These are worth a couple of mph over lesser Conti's.
Easy fit, comfortable, good grip, and punctureless (so far)
